Saturday Selections

Right folks, its a super sporting saturday and as the moniker suggests i will be trying to make a few euro on the days entertainment.

Cheltenham is only just over a week away but there's decent fair at Newbury and Navan tomorrow so here's my four to follow (or forget as it may turn out) with the morning prices

Ravens Run 3.50 Navan 6/1 (6th)
Ouzbeck 3.10 Newbury 8/1 (came 5th)
Wingman 3.45 Newbury 7/2 (5th)
KevKat 4.30 Newbury 4/1 (2nd)

My other bet today will be a 7/1 accumulator on Ireland to beat England in the big one and wins for Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton (won 2-0) and Wolves in the football.

Better Beware

A private sector strike to call out the public sector

***Non populist opinion Disclaimer***

Check Spelling
Now, I'm not one for unions and i believe even less in striking to get your way but a brainwave hit me today as i watched all the civil servants with their jobs for life and their 35 days holidays a year drink coffee and smoke fags ... i mean picket ... outside sarsfield house.

I'm hereby calling for all private sector workers the country over to go on strike ... not against their employers, i want them on board ... but against the government. The strike will be to call for the end to the job for life for public servants and their ridiculous holiday entitlements once and for all.

And you know something i don't care what their unions argument is about the lower pay scale being hit the most - lower pay scale is better than no pay scale at all. If they don't like it just QUIT and look for a job in the private sector that they seem to have such an issue with ... the private sector where you have to perform day in day out to get on in the world, the private sector where inefficient workers are given p45s to be replaced by more willing and more deserving workers who would happily take a job with 45 hours a week and 20 days a year holidays with no guarantees.

Its time for the private sector to strike back.

Limerick Calling Orson Limerick Calling Orson

Right, here as they say goes nothing.

Whether a mork and mindy reference is the best way to start my blogging adventure is a question to be debated at a later stage.

Anyways ... the plan here is to waffle aimlessly about issues as wide ranging as Oscar winners and Sporting Losers, Credit Crunches and Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and Comic geniuses and Jason Byrne.

I've been told that a blog a day keeps the recession away (well it does for Eircom, HP and Microsoft all of whom are benefiting financially from this lifestlyle choice) but realistically 2/3 times a week for starters to see how this works.

I will try and also keep 80s pop culture references to a minimum but wont promise on that account as lets be honest ALF was great.

Until inspiration strikes again
