The Top Ten Reasons to be Grateful that the country is falling apart

As the country stumbles from crisis to crisis (and with thanks to the legend that is David Letterman for his most simplest of ideas) here is my top ten reasons to be grateful that the country is falling apart:

10. With the demise of the building trade we wont be subjected to more Breakfast Roll ditties

9. If we have no money to spend Eddie Hobbs wont be on TV telling us how best to spend it

8. We can tell the taxi drivers how bad things are rather than the other way around

7. We can go back to ordering plain old coffee rather than americanos

6. RTE will have to cut back on one of the Seoiges

5. The Irish Times will be sold on the street and the Big Issues will be the paper of record

4. Second homes will be mobile and in Kilkee, not villas in the med

3. They'll have to bring back happy hours in pubs since everyone is so depressed

2. Angela's Ashes wont be as depressing to read (0k that's probably a push)

and the number one reason to be grateful that the country is falling apart is ...

1. We can start taking the Eurovision seriously again

Aussie Fever

What a few months we have in store later on the year with news today that the Aussies will play Ireland in a soccer international in Thomond Park in August. Thats on the back of the fact that that the Gaelic Grounds will be hosting the Aussies in the International Rules in October. If the other soccer matches for TP (sunderland and real madrid) come off we really are in for a sporting treat.

And won't it be great not to have to travel to Dublin to see the big games.

Of course we have the small matter of a Heineken Cup quarter on Easter Sunday but role on the summer coz you know something we're really living up the Sporting Limerick moniker now and i'm loving it.
